We never had this problem with Brooklyn. She was always so timid to try things physically (she made up for that though with her sass) but we honestly didn't have to worry about her climbing onto spinning computer chairs, using the banana chair as a catapult or seeing how much it would hurt to simply step off the couch. With Carson, we've had to consider buying bubble wrap for the house. The kid is nuts!
Last night I had to run upstairs to get Carson some milk and when I came back down he was smiling with a huge look of pride on his face while standing up on our computer chair laughing as Brooklyn pushed him around and around. He wasn't leaning against anything he was just balancing, but the balancing didn't last long. CRASH! Onto the floor. Brooklyn started crying because she thought she had hurt him so I rushed over just in time to see him start climbing back onto the chair to do it all over again.
A little while later I was sitting in the computer chair when I got pounded from behind by our banana chair. I turned to see Carson fly across the room laughing. I went to see if he was okay and he immediately stood back up, ran over to the banana chair, jumped on it, rocked it back hard and then used the motion of it rocking to launch himself forward again. I was shocked and he was laughing.
In fact, in most Daredevil Dooder cases the only time he starts crying is when we make him stop (which happened a lot last night because mean old daddy wants to see his son at least make it to his 2nd birthday).
I love kids. Seriously, I think I may start seeing if I can make myself fly using the banana chair, it actually looked pretty fun...
