Brooklyn's Fairy Tale

So, I've gotten in the habit of trying to make up bed time stories for Brooklyn to tell her at night and it's been pretty fun. Sometimes I come up with some cool stuff other times I strike out but I keep trying. Tonight I made up a story about a cat in Brooklyn (which Brooklyn thought was really cute since the city is named after her) and she actually liked it a lot and laughed about it. Right after I finished she asked me if she could tell me a fairy tale, I said "sure Brooklyn, lets hear your story..." Here it is...
The Old Lady
by Brooklyn Quarnberg
One time in Brooklyn, there was a old lady who was runnin around until she got hit by a car and got hurt really bad. There was this alligator who was poking his eyes out who ran and ate her and she fell into his tummy. It was really yucky in there so the old lady tried to climb out but the alligator bit her bones and stuff so she had to just relax in there but it was really yucky because there was lots of poop and pee floating around in there. So she just floated around and around in the alligator's tummy and around some more. She lived unhappily ever after.
Okay, so after she finished the story I took a long pause and thought to myself "what have I done wrong with this little girl to make her come up with a story like that." So I asked her, "Brooklyn, that's not a very happy story, why did you think up such a sad story? This was her response:
"Daddy, I thought a sad story would quit making you tell me dumb stories and would make you start reading good stories to me again."
Okay, so I've been officially fired from making up stories for Brooklyn at night. KIDS ARE SO FREAKING SMART! I'm still concerned about her imagination though... I really think we need to have her stop watching Yo Gabba Gabba, that show always makes me think of unhappy things I'd like to do to the TV to turn the show off, maybe it's the cause of her hostile imagination... who knows.
The End

What's that saying, oh yay.. "Kids say the darndest things." I'm not very good with the bed time stories. I'm so glad to get them into bed I don't bother with story time.. At least you try, right.. I don't let my kids watch YO Gabba Gabba either, it's pretty creepy!

I am going to defend Yo Gabba Gabba. Brielle watches it pretty much all day every day and has walked around the house for the last few days saying Happy Happy and giving out hugs. It can be hard to watch, but I just think she's really smart and though of some of the worst things she possibly could to stop the story telling, lol.
